SEM
In reference to the internet, Search Engine marketing (SEM) term is defines by the first page viewed on a monitor. Exclusively, it is used to portray the content a user sees with no scrolling and it refers to the top page of the searched keyword. The attempt aimed at using search engines to market a web site, the purpose may include humanizing natural and paid listing or a grouping of this or other search engine activities.
Pay Per Click (PPC) is also known as Cost Per Click (CPC) advertising. This sort of advertising may be best described as a technique that is used to increase the visibility of any website on search engine. The basic working principle behind PPC is very simple. All you need to do is select a couple of relevant keywords/ keyphrases that are connected to your website or business that you are trying to promote on the internet. After this, as an advertiser you will have to bid for those keywords against other advertisers. When you bid wins, the search engine will display your website links when a search is conducted for the specified keywords. You have to pay only if the user doing the search clicks on your display link. Simply displaying your link on the search engine costs you nothing. That is why it is known as Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and why your advertising costs are defined as Cost Per Click (CPC). Your cost is the bid amount you specify that you are willing to pay every time your advertisement is clicked.

ADWORD OVERVIEW
No matter what your budget or how little time you have, you can reach new customers and grow your business using Google’s online advertising program. With AdWords, you can choose where your ad appears, set a budget that’s comfortable for you (there’s no minimum spending commitment), and easily measure the impact of your ad.
Google Adwords is the system Google has developed to assist you in marketing your products or services in the Google Search Engine, and its affiliate sites, via the use of a placed text ad that appears when people search for phrases related to your offering, this appears as a “sponsored link”. The system is a “pay per click” system, this means you can dictate where your ad appears through bidding for a series of phrases, but you only pay the amount you have bid for if someone clicks on your ad as a result of a web search, i.e. pay per click!

YAHOO AD CAMPAIGN SERVICES
Yahoo chief marketing officer Elisa Steele unveiled what is certainly a new $100 million, global advertising campaign centered around the phrase “It’s Y!ou,” to emphasize what she described as a new direction: an emphasis on customizing the web experience for each user with a mix of content from “My World,” consisting of a user’s friends and interests, and “The World,” comprised of general-interest information.
Yahoo posted a sneak peek of several creative pieces that will become part of the next phase of the company's "It's You!" marketing campaign. This second phase begins May 18, and will run through the year. The ads will appear online, on billboards, airplanes, television and radio. While the campaign aims to highlight Yahoo's products and services and what they mean to consumers, a video on Yahoo's site sets the tone.
YAHOO OVERVIEW
The home page now encourages users to customize it incrementally, rather than all at once, as it used to. And if you add a URL to your favorites, Yahoo will look for an RSS feed so it can start pulling new information from there.
In addition to the revamped homepage, Yahoo plans to give users the gift of additional advertising. Although we’ve never met anyone who was desperate to receive more ads, Yahoo says 77 percent of consumers clamor for more ads, and deeper interaction with those ads, according to an 1100-person study it conducted earlier this year.
“From a user perspective, they look at these ads as part of their content and programming experience,” explained Yahoo executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Elisa Steele. “The industry has done a good job to set their expectations that it should be a part of their content and programming experience. It’s not as integrated as it could be — it’s just an awesome opportunity for the industry because consumers, going more and more on the web for all sorts of reasons, are saying ‘we want to see more ads. We want to store them, we want to find them again, they actually want to remember them.’
